The company started almost by accident — Matt and Chris were redesigning a high-end home and needed a custom concrete basin that didn’t exist on the market, so they made one. That single project turned into Nood Co. Every basin is hand-poured and finished in Perth at the studio in Osborne Park, less than 15 minutes from our Malaga showroom. Today Nood Co’s basins ship to more than 40 countries and the brand has become one of the most-recognised Australian-designer bathroom names internationally — but the basins themselves still come out of a workshop just up the road. All Nood basins are surface-mount (sit on top of the vanity) and are available in Nood Co’s full colour palette — which currently spans the original bold-colour range plus the newer Conscious hues inspired by Australian landscapes. Why Nood Co concrete is different Nood Co’s basins aren’t standard concrete. They’re made from a custom Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) blend that took the founders four years to perfect — a mix that increases the Megapascal (MPa) strength rating significantly above conventional concrete, while staying thin enough to hand-pour into curved profiles. The colour is pigmented through the entire structure (not surface-painted), using chemical-free pigments, so chips or scratches still show the same colour underneath. Each basin is sealed with a food-safe, UV-stable, zero-VOC penetrative sealer and finished with a pure natural beeswax polish — which means no resealing needed over time, plus a 100% non-toxic surface for daily use. Sustainability — 96% less energy than ceramic Nood Co’s UHPC concrete uses around 96% less energy to produce than the equivalent ceramic basin. Around 85 to 90 percent of the concrete composition and packaging is sourced from within Australia, including the fine sand grades and natural admixes, and Nood Co operates with a less-than-3% waste rate in manufacture. Every basin sold also contributes to Carbon Positive Australia’s tree planting programme. Nood Co warranty Nood Co backs every basin with an extended warranty (24 months standard, with longer cover available depending on installation environment and care).
