A toilet suite is bought perhaps twice in the life of a bathroom, so the setout matters more than the styling. QA Bathroom Warehouse stocks 42 toilet suites and bidets at our Malaga warehouse in Perth.
Suite types
Back to Wall Toilets are the most common choice: the pan sits flush to the wall so there is no gap behind to clean, and the cistern stays accessible. Wall Hung Toilets lift the pan off the floor entirely for the cleanest look and the easiest mopping, but they need an in-wall cistern and a supporting frame built into the wall. Inwall Toilets use the same concealed cistern approach with a floor-mounted pan. Smart Toilets & Bidets add washing, drying and seat heating, and need a power point within reach. Hand Bidets are the simplest way to add a bidet function to an existing suite.
Check your setout first
The critical measurement is the distance from the finished wall to the centre of the waste, and whether the waste is an S-trap through the floor or a P-trap through the wall. Get this wrong and the suite will not fit without moving plumbing. If you are replacing like for like, measure before ordering; if you are renovating, confirm the setout with your plumber early.
