About round above-counter basins
Above-counter basins — sometimes called vessel basins or countertop basins — sit fully on top of the vanity benchtop rather than recessed into it. The basin becomes the focal point of the bathroom, and the bench underneath stays clear. Round above-counter basins like the Timberline Allure range are the most versatile shape: they soften the strong horizontal lines of a wall-hung or freestanding vanity and pair equally well with rectangular, oval or curved mirrors above.
Gloss white is the most versatile finish for an above-counter basin. It reflects bathroom lighting brightly, wipes clean easily, and pairs with every tapware finish — chrome, matte black, brushed brass, brushed nickel, gunmetal and brushed copper. The high-gloss surface also shows water marks less than matte ceramics, which is why it remains the most popular finish for Perth bathrooms and ensuites.
Because the Allure has no tap hole on the basin itself, you have full freedom over the tapware choice. The two standard pairings are a tall basin mixer (sitting on the bench beside the basin, with enough spout height to clear the bowl rim) or a wall-mounted basin mixer (mounted on the wall behind the basin, which keeps the bench surface completely clear). For a coordinated look, finish the basin with a matching 32mm pop-up waste in chrome, matte black, brushed brass or brushed nickel.
For a full Timberline setup, the Allure range pairs with Timberline wall-hung and freestanding vanities in matching gloss white, or with contrasting woodgrain and natural oak finishes for a softer, more organic look.
