A compact wall hung basin from QA Bathroom Warehouse in gloss white vitreous china, supplied with its wall fixing kit. At 405 x 200mm and just 105mm high it hangs straight off the wall with no vanity underneath, which makes it the practical answer for a narrow powder room, a butler’s pantry or a tight ensuite corner. No tap hole is drilled, so it pairs with a wall mounted basin mixer. Takes a standard 32mm pop up waste, sold separately. Available in left and right hand versions.

Description

The Compact Wall Hung Basin is a small gloss white ceramic basin in vitreous china, designed to hang directly from the wall on the supplied fixing kit with no vanity or pedestal beneath it. The 405 x 200mm footprint and 105mm overall height suit the rooms where a full vanity simply will not fit — narrow powder rooms, butler’s pantries, laundry corners and the awkward spaces left over in a renovation.

Because nothing sits under the basin, the floor stays clear and the room reads as larger than it is. That same lack of a cabinet means the fixing matters: the supplied kit fixes to a stud or to an in wall noggin, so check what is behind the wall lining before setting the position.

About wall hung basins

Wall hung basins fix straight to the wall with no vanity or pedestal underneath, so the floor stays clear right back to the skirting. That does two things: it makes a small room read as larger, and it makes the floor far easier to mop — which is why they turn up so often in powder rooms, guest bathrooms and butler’s pantries where floor space is the constraint.

Because there is no cabinet carrying the load, the basin needs a solid fixing behind the sheeting. In a new build or a full renovation that means setting a timber noggin between the studs before the wall is lined and tiled. In an existing bathroom you are fixing to whatever is already there, so it is worth checking what is behind the tiles before you commit to a position.

Most wall hung basins are supplied without a tap hole, which keeps the front edge clean and pushes the tapware onto the wall behind. A wall mounted basin mixer or a wall top assembly with a spout both work; the spout needs enough projection to reach past the basin rim. Finish the install with a 32mm pop up waste in a finish that matches the tapware.
