Description
The Eleanor Round Semi Inset from Fienza is a round fluted basin in vitreous china, designed to sit half-recessed into the vanity benchtop. The bowl drops into a cut-out so the lower portion sits below the bench while the top of the rim rises above — giving the visual interest of an above-counter vessel without sacrificing as much bench space.

About round semi-inset basins
Semi-inset basins (also called half-recessed basins) sit half-in and half-out of the vanity benchtop — the bowl drops into a cut-out so the front and lower portion of the basin sits below the bench surface, while the top of the rim rises above the bench. The effect is a softer, more architectural look than a fully inset basin, but with less bench-clearing depth than a tall above-counter vessel.
Round semi-inset basins are the most versatile shape in this category. The circular footprint softens the strong horizontal lines of vanities and mirrors, and the half-in mounting keeps tapware reach manageable while still letting the basin act as a visual feature on the vanity. The shape works equally well in coastal, modern, classic and Hamptons-style bathrooms.
Gloss white ceramic remains the most versatile finish for a semi-inset basin. The high-gloss glaze reflects bathroom light, wipes clean with a soft cloth and mild soapy water, and shows water marks less than matte ceramics. It pairs with every tapware finish — chrome, matte black, brushed brass, brushed nickel, gunmetal and brushed copper — giving you complete flexibility on tap style.
Pair a Fienza semi-inset basin with a wall-mounted basin mixer (behind the basin) or a deck-mounted basin mixer drilled into the benchtop in a 10 o’clock or 2 o’clock position. Add a matching 32mm pop-up waste to coordinate with your tap finish.
