About care and accessible rail showers
An accessible rail shower puts a hand shower on a rail that doubles as a grab point, with a slider the user can move without fine finger control. The push/pull slider on Fienza’s Care rails locks and releases with a simple pull rather than a twist, and the rail itself is rated to take body weight when installed to the manufacturer’s instructions, which is what AS 1428.1 asks for in accessible showers. Inverted T rails add a horizontal grab rail across the top for extra support when standing.
These rails suit aged care, hospitals, disability accommodation and public facilities, and increasingly private homes planned for ageing in place. Because Fienza offers them in the same finishes as its bathroom tapware, an accessible shower can match a standard bathroom rather than look like hospital equipment.
All Fienza rail showers are WELS 3 star, 9 litres a minute, and come with a 1.5 metre hose and a dual check valve for backflow prevention. Spec sheets with rail length, hose length and fixing centres are in the Downloads tab.
