Heated Towel Rails are an affordable luxury for every bathroom for warming and drying your towels.
These heated towel rails are electric units, which means they can be installed close to wet areas in the bathroom. Each rail comes supplied with a transformer that reduces the incoming voltage from 240v to 12v. The rails will still operate at the same temperature and use the same amount of electricity as equivalent 240v rails since the wattage is the same; however, they operate at a lower voltage.
The rails have wiring points on both the left and right-hand sides and can be wired at either the top or bottom. As they are 12v units and need to be wired to a transformer, they can only be hardwired.
The electric towel rails are designed to rapidly heat up and reach a temperature of around 45-55 degrees. They can be operated using an on/off switch; however, we recommend using a timer to allow you to set and forget and control your running costs. As the rails are electric, they are very energy efficient and can cost as little as $1 a week to run.
