Description
The Inset Basin Square is a drop in basin: the bowl drops through a cutout in the vanity top and the rim rests on the surface, so the basin finishes flush with the bench rather than standing on it. It measures 410mm square, which suits a standard 600mm vanity, and the bowl is 185mm deep, which gives a proper amount of water without eating into the cabinet space below.
The glaze is gloss white vitreous china, fired into the surface. One tap hole is formed in the rim at the back, so a standard basin mixer mounts on the basin and the vanity top only needs the cutout. There is an overflow in the bowl, and the 32mm outlet takes a standard pop up waste. Confirm the cutout size from the drawing on the Downloads tab before the top is cut.

About inset basins
An inset basin is the traditional way to put a ceramic bowl into a laminate or stone top. The rim overlaps the cutout, hides the cut edge and takes a bead of silicone, so the top does not need a polished edge and the join stays sealed. It is also the lowest option: the rim is only a few millimetres above the bench, which suits family bathrooms where children use the basin.
The important number is the cutout. It is smaller than the basin so the rim has something to sit on, and it is on the drawing for this basin. Cut the top to that size, drop the basin in dry to check it sits level, then lift it, run silicone around the cutout and set it back down. Fit the waste before the basin goes in for good, because access from below is tight once the cabinet is in.
With the tap hole in the basin rim, a standard height basin mixer sits right at the back of the bowl and the spout lands water in the centre. There is no second hole to cut in the top, and the tap and basin always line up.
