Rectangular drop in basin in gloss white vitreous china, 535mm wide, 450mm deep, with a 185mm deep bowl. The rim sits on the vanity top and carries one tap hole for a standard basin mixer, so no tap hole is needed in the bench. Overflow included. Pop up waste sold separately.
Description
The Inset Basin is the larger rectangular drop in basin in our range. At 535mm wide and 450mm front to back it gives a generous bowl for a 750mm or wider vanity, and the 185mm depth holds a proper amount of water for washing hair or soaking a cloth. The rim sits on the vanity top with the bowl below it, so the basin finishes almost level with the bench and there is nothing to catch a sleeve on.
The glaze is gloss white vitreous china. One tap hole is formed in the rim at the back, so a standard basin mixer mounts on the basin and the vanity top only needs the cutout. There is an overflow in the bowl, and the 32mm outlet takes a standard pop up waste. Confirm the cutout from the drawing on the Downloads tab before the benchtop is cut.

About large inset basins
Bathrooms with a single wide vanity often end up with a small basin in the middle of a big top. A 535mm inset bowl fixes that. It fills the vanity properly, gives two people room to share, and because the bowl is set into the top it does not stand up as a feature the way a vessel basin does. The top itself stays clear for soap and toothbrushes.
Fitting is the same as any inset basin: cut the top to the cutout size on the drawing, sit the basin dry to check the fit, then seal the rim down with silicone. The basin is 450mm front to back, so the vanity top needs to be deep enough to take the cutout and leave a solid edge at the front and back. A 500mm or deeper top is comfortable.
With a bowl this deep, a standard pop up waste and a 32mm trap are all that is needed. Check the cabinet below has clearance for the trap where it meets the wall outlet before the vanity is fixed.
