The Lauxes NXT 26 (NeXT Generation) is a slimline linear shower grate made in Australia from anodised aluminium. At 100mm wide and 26mm deep it suits most tiled shower floors, and its anti water tracking design stops water creeping along the underside of the grate and onto the floor. The same grate works indoors in showers and wet rooms, and outdoors on balconies, alfresco areas and pool surrounds.

We stock the NXT 26 in 5.6m full lengths and sell it two ways. Choose Per Metre and enter the number of metres you need as the quantity: the price shown is for one metre, and your grate is cut from a 5.6m length. Or choose Full Length 5.6m to buy a whole length at 20% off, ideal for long runs, balconies and outdoor areas. The grate trims to the exact size on site, and runs longer than 5.6m are joined with Lauxes joiners. Because the waste outlet can sit anywhere along the bottom tray, the grate lines up with new or existing plumbing without moving pipes. End caps and waste outlets are sold separately so you can match the colour.

Choosing a linear shower grate

A linear grate runs along one edge of the shower instead of sitting in the middle of the floor, so the floor only needs to fall one way. That makes large format tiles easier to lay, suits walk-in and frameless showers, and looks cleaner than a square centre waste. Linear grates also work on balconies, alfresco areas and around pools, wherever water needs to be caught along a doorway or edge.

There are two main styles. A standard or NXT grate shows a slotted metal top, while a tile insert grate has a tray that takes the same tile as the floor, so the drain almost disappears. Choose a channel deep enough for your tile and bed, and check that the waste outlet size meets the plumbing rules in your state before installing.
