Description
1 x Lauxes End Caps 26 x 100mm (pair): one pair for each grate run, same colour
1 x Lauxes Waste Outlet: choose 40mm or 72mm to suit your floor waste
The Lauxes Slimline Tile Insert 26 is the most popular grate in the Lauxes range and the one to choose when you want the shower drain to blend into the floor. Instead of a slotted top, the grate has a 100mm wide tray that you tile with the same tile as the rest of the floor. Only a thin anodised aluminium edge and the drainage gaps on either side show, which suits large format tiles, walk-in showers and modern bathrooms where a metal grate would break up the floor.
The tray is 26mm deep and holds tiles up to 11mm thick. We stock it in 5.6m full lengths. Choose Per Metre and enter the metres you need as the quantity (the price shown is for one metre, cut from a 5.6m length), or choose Full Length 5.6m to buy a whole length at 20% off. It trims to size on site, with Lauxes joiners for longer runs. The waste outlet can sit anywhere along the bottom tray, and the grate rolls out for cleaning. End caps and waste outlets are sold separately in matching colours.

Choosing a linear shower grate
A linear grate runs along one edge of the shower instead of sitting in the middle of the floor, so the floor only needs to fall one way. That makes large format tiles easier to lay, suits walk-in and frameless showers, and looks cleaner than a square centre waste. Linear grates also work on balconies, alfresco areas and around pools, wherever water needs to be caught along a doorway or edge.
There are two main styles. A standard or NXT grate shows a slotted metal top, while a tile insert grate has a tray that takes the same tile as the floor, so the drain almost disappears. Choose a channel deep enough for your tile and bed, and check that the waste outlet size meets the plumbing rules in your state before installing.
Order grates by the metre and cut them to length on site, then add a pair of end caps and a waste outlet in a matching colour. See Lauxes grates in store at QA Bathroom Warehouse in Malaga, Perth, or ask our team to help work out lengths for your project.
