Description
The Lotus Medium Basin Mixer sits between the standard and tall taps in the Lotus range. It is the one to choose when the basin rim is a little above the bench, as with a semi inset basin or a low vessel basin around 110 to 120mm high, and a standard mixer would leave the spout too close to the rim. At about 240mm tall with a 210mm reach it clears a low basin comfortably without the height, or the price, of the full tall mixer.
It shares the Lotus look: a round body, a gently curved spout and a single lever on top. The body is solid brass with a ceramic disc cartridge for smooth, drip free control, and it mounts through a single hole in the vanity top with flexible braided hoses. It comes in Chrome, Matt Black and Brushed Nickel, with the coloured finishes applied over the brass so they stand up to water spots and fingerprints.

For an inset basin the Lotus Basin Mixer is the better fit, and for a tall vessel basin step up to the Lotus Tall Basin Mixer. It pairs well with our Above Counter Square Basin 360mm and Round Basin Gloss White. Browse all basin mixers at our Malaga showroom. The drawing is on the Downloads tab.
Why a medium height mixer exists
Basin mixers used to come in two heights, standard and tall, and vessel basins fell awkwardly between them. A standard mixer beside a 120mm high basin puts the spout barely above the rim, so you cannot get your hands under it. A tall mixer at nearly 300mm clears the rim by a wide margin but looks oversized next to a low, wide bowl and can splash in a shallow one.
The medium mixer fills that gap. With the outlet roughly 100 to 130mm above a low vessel basin’s rim it gives the same comfortable clearance a standard mixer gives an inset basin, and the proportions stay in balance. It is also the natural choice for semi inset basins, where the rim sits 30 to 60mm above the bench.
Set the tap hole so the spout reaches to about the centre of the bowl. With a 210mm reach that usually means the tap centre sits 60 to 100mm behind the back edge of the basin. Check the lever has room to lift fully before the vanity top is cut.
