Description
The Square Tall Basin Mixer is the high spout version of the Square Basin Mixer, with the same square column, square section spout and flat blade lever extended in height to clear an above counter basin. Where the standard mixer would sit level with the rim of a vessel bowl, this one puts the outlet well above it and lands the water in the middle of the basin.
It suits bathrooms designed around straight lines and grid aligned tiles, and it is the natural partner for a square or rectangular vessel basin on a flat panel vanity. The body is solid brass with a ceramic disc cartridge for smooth control and a drip free shut off, and it mounts through a single hole in the vanity top with flexible braided hoses. It comes in polished chrome, which matches chrome shower sets, wastes and accessories.

Setting out a tall mixer beside a vessel basin
A tall mixer and a vessel basin are a pair, and they need to be set out together. The spout has to reach over the rim and land near the centre of the bowl, so the tap hole usually sits 60 to 100mm behind the back edge of the basin. That means the vanity top needs enough depth behind the basin for the mixer base, plus room for the lever to move. On a 460mm deep vanity with a 400mm basin, there is not enough room and a wall set is the better option.
Height is the other check. The outlet should sit 100 to 150mm above the basin rim. Too close and you knock your hands on the spout; too high and water splashes out of a shallow bowl. A tall mixer works well with basins 110 to 150mm high on a standard height vanity.
Fit the flexible hoses to the mixer before it goes through the top, tighten the mounting nut from below and seal the base with a thin bead of silicone. Match the pop up waste to the mixer finish so the two visible metal parts agree.
