Description
The Lotus Tall Basin Mixer is the highest tap in the Lotus range, made for above counter basins and vessel bowls where a standard mixer would sit level with the rim. At about 288mm high, with the outlet around 256mm above the base and a 210mm reach, it clears a 150mm high basin with room to spare and puts the water in the centre of the bowl rather than against the near side.
It keeps the Lotus shape: a slim round column, a gently curved spout and a single lever on top. The body is solid brass with a ceramic disc cartridge, so the lever moves smoothly and shuts off without dripping, and it mounts through one hole in the vanity top with flexible braided hoses. Choose Chrome, Matt Black or Brushed Nickel, with the coloured finishes applied over the brass for resistance to water spots and fingerprints.

Tall mixers and vessel basins
A vessel basin sits on top of the vanity, so its rim ends up 110 to 150mm higher than an inset basin in the same cabinet. A standard basin mixer, with its outlet around 120mm above the bench, would sit level with the rim. A tall mixer moves the outlet up to about 256mm, which restores the 100 to 150mm of clearance that makes a basin comfortable to use.
Reach matters as much as height. The spout needs to land water near the middle of the bowl, not at the near edge, so a tall mixer with a 210mm reach is usually placed 60 to 100mm behind the basin. That means the vanity needs enough depth behind the basin to take the tap. On a shallow vanity, a wall mixer above the basin is the alternative.
Tall mixers also work well as a design element. The slim column beside a round or square bowl gives the vanity a focal point, especially in Matt Black or Brushed Nickel against a white basin. Match the pop up waste to the same finish so the two visible metal parts agree.
